Raw food is not recommended especially in the evening. Prolonged hunger and hypothermia are contraindicated.
According to Ayurveda, the general condition of Ama-Vata (excess of toxins in the joints) usually can be controlled by just correcting the diet together with oil massage and sweating. Therefore, it is especially recommended during the treatment apply warm oils - sesame, mustard, Mahanarayan and other oils for external use as well as taking warm shower or mild sauna.
