AYURVEDIC SUPPLEMENT TO IMPROVE THE DIGESTION

Trikatu Capsules

60 Vegetarian Capsules

Trikatu is classical Ayurvedic remedy. It promotes healthy digestion, improves food absorption and nutrients assimilation. It is a natural supplement which helps to normalize the metabolism and promote weight loss. It improves digestion by increasing “the digestive fire”.

Trikatu literally means "three peppers or three pungents". It contains equal proportions of three spices and has pungent taste: Black pepper (Piper nigrum), Pippali – Long pepper (Piper longum) and Shunthi – Ginger (Zingiber officinale).

This combination has been traditionally used in Ayurveda to kindle the “agni” (digestive fire), as well as to effectively eliminate mucus, fat and toxins from the body. Trikatu promotes healthy metabolism, allowing the body to digest the food properly and absorb nutrients from it, thus helping to maintain the healthy body weight.

Trikatu has expectorant and stimulant effects. Improves digestion, cleanses the body of “ama” (toxins). Removes the excessive mucus and fluid from the body, thereby promotes natural weight loss.

Trikatu increases “the digestive fire”, and therefore the appetite. Trikatu is used to treat colds, due to its expectorant effect.

Main ingredients Sattva Trikatu capsules:

Black pepper (Piper nigrum) – Kali Mirch, as it is called in Hindi, has been widely used in India for centuries. There is evidence that it was cultivated here for over two thousand years. Black pepper is cooked and dried unripe berry of perennial woody wine, piper nigrum, which grows in a number of subtropical and tropical regions of the country in the wild or cultured form. Black pepper has pungent and bitter taste. In Indian cuisine there are many dishes containing black pepper. It provides good flavor and spicy taste to a food. As a spice it is used worldwide. However, few people know about its medicinal properties.

Meanwhile, all the ancient Ayurvedic texts contain descriptions of the medicinal use of black pepper. It is useful for treatment of asthma, sore throat, hemorrhoids, indigestion, bladder infections, and as a tonic remedy. Black pepper is considered to increase sexual desire; it has carminative and laxative effects. It is used for treatment of spleen disorders, sciatica, leukoderma, paralysis and chronic fever. In the laboratory studies of black pepper there were identified volatile alkaloids piperine and piperidine, as well as balsamic volatile oil. Piperine is known for its antipyretic properties.

Black pepper reduces cholesterol and increases the metabolism. Effectively removes toxins from the body.

Pippali - Long pepper (Piper longum) – has strong antiseptic effect. Stimulates the functioning of gastrointestinal tract, increases the appetite, as well as gastric and pancreatic secretions. Thanks to such alkaloids as silvatine, sitosterols and methyl piperine it may help to eliminate bile stasis and relieve nausea. Also, it is traditionally used for respiratory diseases treatment.

Shunthi - Zingiber officinale (Zingiber officinale) – is heading the ginger family. The ginger rhizome is used as a spice and for medicinal purposes. Ginger is one of the most popular eastern spices. It is ranked the fifth among 30 elite medicinal herbs due to its frequency of use in traditional Oriental medicine. Ayurveda considers ginger the "universal remedy." Ginger is recommended for treatment of hypoacid gastritis, flatulence, lack of appetite; acute and chronic hepatitis, chronic recurrent cystitis, pyelonephritis, complex therapy of dysbacteriosis, provoked by antibiotic treatment. It has strong detoxifying effect. Ginger stimulates digestion by helping the body to remove toxins from the intestine  and split the fats.
